This is one of the “coming soon” JDE enhancement that most stroke my attention at Collaborate: the out-of-the-box integration between Content and Experience Cloud (CEC) and JD Edwards, to provide content collaboration and integrated and omnichannel experience to the JDE user.

This is one of the “coming soon” JDE enhancement that most stroke my attention at Collaborate: the out-of-the-box integration between Content and Experience Cloud (CEC) and JD Edwards, to provide content collaboration and integrated and omnichannel experience to the JDE user. Customers, suppliers, partners, and employees can collaborate around any type of multi-channel content across different platforms, share and interact with it.

Content and Experience solution is an Oracle Cloud Service based on Oracle Documents Cloud Service with the integration of in-context conversations and advanced mobile capabilities.  It is possible to extend CEC with Process Cloud Service, using Oracle PaaS for instance. This “natural” extension to Content and Experience Cloud will allow to design and implement content-driven business processes across the enterprise and multiple applications.  Typical use cases are the acknowledgment of a purchase order form a supplier, or the approval of project change requests with customers.

The announcement from Collaborate is that the next JD Edwards Tools Release (coming very soon), will provide a standard out-of-the-box connector between JDE and CEC, offering to the JD Edwards customers

  • Seamless integration between JDedwards and Content and Experience Cloud
  • Contextual Document Storage
  • Contextual Conversations
  • Internal/External collaboration
  • This will extend JDEdwards capabilities to content management and contextual social conversations on a traditional or mobile interface.

The value proposition is clear and simple

  • Lower costs and provide a more efficiency via an online collaboration platform
  • Extend customers and suppliers self-service solutions
  • Anywhere anytime access via the mobile interface
  • Lower storage and processing cost.
  • Internal/External Collaboration

The solution leverages the current “Attachments” architecture, but compared to the current functionality, it offers multiple advantages

  • Documents are stored outside the transactional JDE database – potential storage savings up to 30%
  • Advanced document search capabilities
  • History and traceability
  • Collaboration thanks to the external access via a simple URL
